Joe explains: "Happiness Bird Stops By came about one day when I was sitting in my studio, from where I can see all of the East Bay, all of downtown San Francisco and both big bridges, thinking about how lucky I am to work here, to live in the Presidio National Park, to be married to a brilliant, beautiful woman and to have two boys I think the world of. Just then a bird landed on my windowsill, and I realized it must the the Happiness Bird coming by to check on me."
