2007

Fiber-reactive dyes painted and printed on cotton, machine and hand stitched
24 x 24 inches (31 x 32 inches framed)
Note: This work comes framed.

Fraas and Slade's Watermarks Project was inspired by the twenty-six alphabetical flags of the International Code of Signals, which are used for communication between vessels at sea. In addition to their use as individual letters of the alphabet, many flags have additional specific meanings. The bold horizontally striped C-Charlie flag signifies "Affirmative."
