IN THE BEGINNING Nancy Erickson
2007 Fabric paints, oil sticks and charcoal on velvet and cotton. Machine stitched, appliquéd and quilted.
Three free form fabric pieces, approximately 71 x 80 inches overall (Note: Black background is not part of the artwork. Velcro is attached to the back of each piece for mounting.)
This three-piece work depicts a human and a wolf warily sharing a fire as they begin to negotiate the mutually beneficial relationship that continues today in the dogs we love and share our lives and homes with.
